Who are we?
Cadence for Change (C4C) is a friendly home for people that may have taken a break from music but miss it in their lives. A warm and welcoming community of music lovers, singers, and instrumentalists to rehearse, record, and perform together. A safe space where members bond, learn, and grow, and push themselves to be better musicians, surrounded by a talented artistic team that cares.
What do we believe in?
We believe in music education for everyone. We believe in the transformative power of having a 1-1 musical mentor in your life, enriching your life through weekly ensembles, performing onstage and in the community, for challenging yourself, and in deepening your musicianship.
We rehearse at Kanbar Performing Arts Center
Wonderful facilities, acoustics, choral risers, music stands, and Chorissima - a hall in which to perform and inspire audiences.
Ensembles enrich communities
A non-audition CHOIR for anyone to connect with other music lovers that want to prioritize time in their life and schedule for music. An friendly-auditioned CHAMBER CHOIR for more experienced singers to push themselves with deep, meaningful experiences. A CHAMBER MUSIC ENSEMBLE for people with instruments collecting dust under the bed. Join BANDS and perform to the public.
A voice class with heart
Meet Monica - a remarkable teacher to inspire you to find your voice, lift you up, and elevate your thinking about performing. Monica will work with you during choir rehearsal as section leader to enable you to be your best and also leads a group voice class.
An effort to deepen music education in the Fillmore
Actively working with public and charter schools that could benefit from more music education instruction, ensembles, opportunities, and raised musical aspirations.
An effort to restore a landmark
A remarkable 123-yr old cathedral of a building in the Fillmore, ready to be transformed and saved, with a new purpose to delight audiences, engage a community, and educate students and adults.
Enabling scholarships and greater participation
Understanding the significance of music festivals for composers, singers, songwriters, and chamber musicians of all backgrounds and experience levels.
